October 13, 2007 Hey folks, happy fall! Thanks again to everyone who came out to my CD release shows. It was great to see you, and I hope you're all enjoying Technicolor Halo. Your support has helped me reach one of the major goals every independent musician dreams of: breaking even! Yes yes, the record has officially paid for itself! I am now free to consider recording another one... and the crazy thing is that I've almost got enough new songs to do it too! The new one is now available on iTunes, by the way. And Boston-area folks can grab a copy at one of my upcoming local shows. Here is a video of my CD release at the Basement in Northampton, MA--by far the best band I've ever played with. Keep your eyes peeled, 'cause I'm sure we'll be playing together again in the not-too-distant future! Enjoy!
August 28, 2007 Thanks to everyone who came out to my first couple of CD release shows. I'm having a blast so far! I wanted to let you know that my new album Technicolor Halo is now available for purchase online. You can order a copy of the CD from CDbaby.com Or you can download the mp3 files from DigStation.com It should also be available on iTunes very soon. Also, please consider coming out to one of the remaining CD release shows. I'm playing with some mighty fine folks out here! You can see the rest of my schedule on the shows page. See you out there! July 26, 2007 I've posted a few tracks from the new record on my myspace page. If you visited there in the past, you've probably heard the demos for Heading South and Say a Prayer, but I've posted their latest-and-greatest studio incarnations. Doomsday Sunday Sermon is a glorious neo-gospel tune by my friend Trevor Reichman (a.k.a. Tre/One Mic Stand) that I've been meaning to cover for years... and I'm so very happy with how it's turned out! Let me know what you think--there's more where those came from. Technicolor Halo, coming in late August to a CD release party near you--if'n you're in the NW or NE that is... I'll get to the rest of the country in good time I promise (as soon as this thing goes gold). happy ears,
July 5, 2007 Here's the second round of studio pictures, plus a video of me performing "Doomsday Sunday Sermon" from the new record with the valley's own dixieland superstars, The Primate Fiasco. The song was written by my friend Trevor Reichman, a talented songwriter from Austin, TX. It's a clever gospel tune that I've been dying to cover ever since I first heard him play it, back when were both Portlanders.
July 2, 2007 I realized I haven't posted any pictures yet of the recording process, so I'll post a couple rounds of what I have. Here's the first batch. Click the thumbnails for a larger image. Enjoy!
April 27, 2007 Friends, folkies, family: lend me your... wait, wrong speech. But I do have some oh-so-exciting news to tell youexciting enough even to warrant one of these: "!" I'll be releasing my first ever honest-to-goodness studio album Technicolor Halo this August! And if you keep an eye on the shows page, you should see dates popping up in the northwest and northeast corners of the country labeled "CD RELEASE TOUR". I know, I know, it's kinda a ways away... but I wanted you to be able to mark your calendars now! In the meantime, I've got lots of shows coming up to keep the Northeast folks happy, from NYC all the way up to Maine. I'm especially excited to be opening for Cheryl Wheeler next weekend in Portsmouth, RI. She's quite a compelling writer and entertainer, and she's also got a great song about port-a-potties (no joke). Oh yes, good times will be had. I'll also be performing side-man duties for my friend Chris Pureka in May. You may have heard me cover her tune "Porch Songs" on the banjo at one of my recent shows. Trust me, she rocks. March 13, 2007 Welcome to the new AdamSweeney.net! I'll have lots of news to share soon regarding the new album, upcoming shows, and the like. In the meantimefor all you multimedia-lovin' folkshere's a video of me playing banjo with Tracy Grammer at the Iron Horse last fall. More videos to come. See you soon!
