Last Band Show of Summer
07.16.09

Folks and folkies,

My last full band show of the summer is coming up next weekend at the Alberta Street Pub, and we’d love to see you! We’re taking a break until October to write some new songs, make an animated video, retool the website, let various band members get married, and prepare for recording a new record.

But before all that, we’re playing one last show! Opening up the evening is Noah Gundersen, one of the best and brightest up-and-coming songwriters I’ve seen in a long time — and hey, he’s from Lewis County, right where I grew up! Check out his tunes at myspace.com/noahgundersen and you’ll be tapping your toes for sure.

** Friday, July 24 @ Alberta Street Pub
w/ Noah Gundersen
1036 NE Alberta Street, Portland OR
7pm, $5 cover, 21+

And one last solo show in August:

** Tuesday, August 18 @ Liquid Assets Wine Bar
w/ Sabrina Fountain
96 N Main Street, Ashland OR
8pm, 21+

Enjoy the sun!

-Adam

May Residency / East Coast Tour
05.14.09

Look out, kids, things are about to get real busy!

First thing is that I’ve been asked to play a three-week happy hour residency at Biddy McGraw’s during the month of May, starting tonight. I’ll be playing there for the next three Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm, and I’ll have a few special guests with me. Kicking it off tonight will be Katie Sawicki, and we’ll be previewing material from our upcoming East Coast tour. Come on out for a drink!

And that’s the second bit of news–I’m finally coming back east! For the first week of June I’ll be touring as a side-man for Katie Sawicki, playing banjo, accordion, and electric guitar. Then I’ll spend another week playing a few dates of my own, and three of those will be full band shows with Dave Chalfant (from the Neilds) on bass, Jim Henry on electric guitar and dobro, and Ben Laine (from Fancy Trash) on drums. Should be good times!

Lots going on…
04.26.09

April’s been a busy month. We’ve already played two local shows and laid down some demos at Sunroom Portable Studios. Plus I’ve been busy booking a small east-coast tour in June. I’ve also been practicing up for a visit from my old band from MA, Drew Hickum & the Colonels, who are joining us for a show next month.

Oh yeah, and we’ve got a new video up on YouTube from our Mississippi Pizza show last week. Take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxNCWWW7A88

West Coast Tour
02.18.09

My first ever tour down to L.A. kicks off tonight (Feb 18) in Eugene at Sam Bond’s Garage! Over the next few days we’ll hit San Francisco, L.A., Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Ashland, finishing up in Portland with a pared-down band show at the Alberta Street Pub.

I’ll be opening most of the shows, then I’ll be joining Katie Sawicki and Ashleigh Flynn on banjo, electric guitar, and accordion for their sets as well. I think they’re trying to get their money’s worth out of me. :)

Seeing as this is my first time playing in CA, if you know anyone who might be into the show, I’d love it if you’d let them know we’re coming. Check out the shows page for specific dates and times.

And Portlanders, I’d love it if you’d come out to the Alberta Street Pub on Thursday the 26th (7pm) to welcome us home.

Much love from the road,

Adam

Venturing North
01.28.09

Just a quick note to express how excited I am about venturing north tomorrow with my good friend Katie Sawicki. We’re doing a duo show in Bellingham tomorrow night (Jan 29) in anticipation of our upcoming California tour with Ashleigh Flynn.

That show will be followed by a full band extravaganza at one of my favorite Seattle establishments, the Conor Byrne Pub, on Saturday night (Jan 31). And that is gonna rock.

I can say so for certain because I was there when we were practicing in a low-ceilinged echoy basement, and if it sounded good in there, it’s sure to sound good at ye olde pub with beer in hand, right? Right!
